Can't seem to find any of the mostly armor model magazines anywhere. Can anyone give me subscription info for Military Modelcraft International or the other US armor publication who's name escapes me.
Is MMI regarded to be the best? Any opinions?
FSM is nice, but I really would like to get something that's mostly armor.
Thanks,
Steve

Sniper..Hello. The Magazine you were referring to is "Military Miniatures in Review" commonly known as MMiR. It's published quarterly by:
Ampersand Publishing Company, Inc.
235 N.E. 6th Ave.
Suite G
Delray Beach, Fl. 33483
Tel. (561) 266-9686 Fax: (561)-276-5786 E-mail:[email protected]
The last info that I have is that it's $35.00 for 4 quarterly issues. That seems like a lot but it's the BEST modelling magazine (IMHO) in the world for armor. It has about 80 pages of kit reviews & articles and a lot of it is in color.
Another great magazine is "Steel Masters" published in France. It's in French but the pictures are worth the $7.95 U.S. that you pay at your local Hobby shop.
Hope this helps....Jeff

I hope this info is still up to date today....let me know how you make out

Hi Sniper, if you are looking for mainly armour modelling articles or mags check out AFV Modeller. The magazine has been out for about a year, comes out bi monthly, and is all armour(I think in the 7 issues I have there is one article on face painting). the articles are great and the pics are superb. Go to afvmodeller.com to see some spreads from current and future issues. Also, subscription service is available through Wiseowl.

Thanks for the info! Now I'm even more confused!!!!
MMI looks great but the subscription is around $75 US. That's a bit too high for me for a magazine.
Maybe MMiR is a better choice. Even though it's only quarterly, the price is a bit more reasonable.
Or, is MMI really worth the extra money?
I don't think I'll be buying Fine Scale Modeler anymore so that may help in making a choice. Not that there's anything wrong with FSM, just that I'm almost 100% armor and FSM's articles can get repetitive if you have gotten it for a couple years. I just think it would be cool to get some in-depth armor features.
One thing, I've never seen a copy of MMiR or MMI. Does anyone have an old copy (especially of MMiR) they'd like to sell or could get one at a newstand for me and I can pay them. Would like to see it before investing so much.
Thanks!
Steve
