Looks pretty good. Couple issues on accuracy though. The M275A2 tractor unit had a fuel tank on the left side of the frame (where the spare is on the left side). The spare was mounted in a rack behind the cab, similar to how the M52 and M931 tractors are set up as well. The right side had air tanks. The frame behind the cab was also shortened.
The 5th wheel looks too small too. Also, the ramps that lead up to the 5th wheel should be in line with the trailing legs of the 5th wheel.
The mud guards forward of the rear wheels are missing as well. The exhaust stack is way over rusted too. Lastly, the mushroom shaped piece on the right fender is the air intake and shouldn't be rusty.
You can see all these features below.
A good start, some small corrections and additions and it will look great.

Thanks Gino the things you mentioned should'nt be to hard to correct. As far as shortening the frame behind cab I think I'll remember that next time. I'll wipe away some of the pastel on the stack.

I like it very much!!! Are you going to put it into a diorama?
What kits did you use for this one?
Again; great job!

Thanks for the replies Mark and Charles.
Some day I plan to put it in an diorama but I have a few more trucks to complete before I get into that. I used the AFV Club M35A2 for the build done a few modifications I used evergreen stryen for the fifth wheel and tread plate behind the cab.

To make you feel a little better about your conversion, here is a photo of a converted M35 A2 to haul trailers. So you have built a almost accurate version of a field modified tractor. The fifth wheel should be larger and the frame should be shortened at the rear or the rear duals. But all in all a great attempt for your first try. They will only get better with each build you do. Bravo.
Here is another pic of the M 275 A2 tractor.

Thanks for the encouragement Dave. Would there have been trucks modified like this in Vietnam.

Yes. One of the Reefer units out of Long Binh area had a couple modified. But most units has the M 52 five ton tractors. We had a couple of the M 275 A1's on Cu Chi to ferry some of the ammo trailers when empty to the ammo dump.
