Wood Glue!!!!
Just buy the brown stuff at your local hardware store and volia you got a bottle of mud.
heres how u do it:
1: Shake it up and take off cape ( bet ya didnt know that! #:-) jk )
2: Squeze the bottle onto the model
3: put out in sun till completey dry ( it tends to dry on the outer layers why the iner core is wet)
4: Apply a second or third coat and dont forget to pull the bottle away while your squezzing to give it the drippy mud look
5: Dry brush a brown paint onto the model and your done!
I used the wood glue on these models here :
British Infantry Tank Matilda and theT-72
tell me how it works or if you have any thing to add on

I use a mixture of white glue, brown acryllic paints, and some real dirt. Use the paint for the color of the mud you want and the dirt adds texture. You can make this mud as thin or as thick as you want.

Good twist. I have used a combination of things but never just the glue. I like the outcome. Nice!

I used something similar to Selrach. I just did my first bit of mud on a model, i used white pva and acrylic paint but i added the insides of a used tea bag for a bit of texture. It came out OK and had a nice aroma.

Tanks46 Here. I have another method that I like to use for mud. I clean my brushes initially in between paint colors by dipping the brush in a common container. This in turn builds up residue in the bottom. Once the small bottle begins to run down I dump the remainder, and transfer the ooze at the bottom into another container. I add some pencil shavings from a battery operated unit and mix it. To get various shades I add if necessary the right paint. It makes great mud thick or light consistency and what ever color you need. It works great. (Once you make one batch you have it for a while). The same thing with semi-dryed out earth colors. Mix a little of the above pencil shavings, bottom of the cleaning jar or botttle - again great mud. Anyway that's my suggestion. Butch Cassidy Tanks46.
