G'day guys
well my question isnt as broad as the title, but thats the simplest way to put it.
Im wondering specifically what fire would do to a Bren Gun Carrier.
The Carrier is painted in Olive drab, now would there just be a visual transition from OD to black and a more charred texture where the fire was, or what?
I couldnt find any photographs on the net, not in color anyway, plenty of other vehicles but im not sure if i should go from those as alot have whites and yellows on the body as well as the black from the fire and smoke, and im unsure if that was due to the color of the undercoat or something.
Anyway if anyone can help me out i'd really appreciate it.
Cheers

Burned vehicals don't usually look like you immagined. Look up pictures of destroyed and burnt out Iraqi vehicles. You can find typical damage found on any burnt vehicle. Prime portal or tanxheaven might be a start.

I was just reading a Mig article in a Tamiya magazine last night about obtaining a burnt out effect on a Tamiya T55 tank. I believe it was No.113 March 2005. You can get it from the Tamiya magazine site:

MInd you, that was not an OD vehicle, and was a completely (mostly) burnt tank, but it should help somewhat.

Here is a photo of a burning tanker that I built a couple of years ago. The paint would start to blacken and then burn off to expose the metal. as the metal begins to cool it will oxidize quickly and and start to rust.

David, if you're interested I can email you some pics of burnt out cars. The local car thieves have taken to setting fire to stolen cars in the field where I walk my dog. It's surpring just how quickly they rust. Usually within 48hrs!
