Hey lads
Non airbrusher here... What would be the minimum PSI for a compressor to work an airbrush to a suffcient standard? Only really need it for blocks of colour ie. OD and dust etc.
Thanks for help
Cheers

Depends on several factors such as paint-to-thinner ratio, type of paint, airbrush tolerances, etc. I've dropped my PSI down to 10 for some things but usually stay in the 15-25 range for most work. It isn't a "tank" compressor, just a little 1/8 hp jobby that runs with a regulator and a moisture trap.

Hey Brad,
I have never really gone below 10-15 psi, and that has given me decent results with camo.

As stated above, it depends on the paint thinness. The thinner the paint, the lower the pressure can be. I have thinned the paint way down and gone as low as 5-7 psi to get a really fine line. I use a Paasche H airbrush. Best bet is to try and see what you can do with your airbrush.

Hey thanks for the input...
I logically see now that the thinness of the paint is an obvious driving factor... I didn't make myself as clear as I obviously wanted to originally. I have an airbrush (the type with a glass jar underneath) and wanted to know how small I could go in hp and PSI... Want a real cheapy for my first attempts.. The folding is a bit limited at the moment...
Cheers again

I use a AB-AS18 from these people. If you can find an equivalent it is a very good beginners compressor - obviously the shipping would be pricey, but i'm sure you could find a local equivalent.
