Guys,
I am building this Tamiya model, OOB, and understand the possible cammo schemes. What I am not sure how to do is painting the rest of the machine. Shoul;d everything be gray, drybrushed with metal? Black drybrushed grey/metal? Any help will be appreciated.
Any links to finished models would be a blessing.
Also, any idea who makes a crew, not in winter gear, for this type of AA?
Thanks,
Charles

Charles, it depends on where you want it to be and which year in relation to the colour. Dunkel grau is an early war colour. Don't forget that most German stuff was used throughout the war in various theatres. I'm sure if you want it be in a specific area or country someone will oblige with the correct scheme. The Germans went over to Dunkel Gelb as a base colour in 1943 (probably wrong. Not really an Axis modeller) so that gives you more scope. I have a feeling that Tristar do an AA crew that you could modify.
Don't neccessarily follow painting instructions from the box (tamiya have some strange ideas at times) but have a dig about on the net for reference pics or ask questions. That way you get a) good reference and (b) other peoples experience. It's the best way.......

If you want to make the guns look like the darkly-blued metal they were, try painting them with semi-gloss black. Very lightly touch the edges and worn areas with some gun metal or graphite powder.

Thanks guys. I never seem to get the bare metal parts lookoing like anything but painted plastic. I will try the semi gloss back and drybrush some gun metal. I'll also get hold of the Tristar crew.
Hope to post pics in a couple of weeks.
