I was surfing around this morning and came across this on the mdfc blog of Hiroshi Yoshino. I thought of all the Allied modelers while reading this.

I met Yamada san last Saturday. We chatted and talked about Dragon got their M1A1 AIM came out recently. Yamada san sigh that Dragon takes special care of German lovers and only Sherman lovers on the Allied side. He really wants some more Allies addition to his 1/35 collection.

I suddenly remember something Imura san told me some days ago. So I told Yamada san not to worry, he will soon see a half-track from Dragon! He looks unbelievable but all I can do is smile at him and pat his shoulder, told him to trust me.

Hmmm. I do recall Jim Rae saying that this was going to be a good year for Allied modellers.

Have a good one

Hi Brian,

Time will tell :-) :-) :-)

I did notice on the box art of the re-released Firefly Ic a British soldier with a PIAT, lets hope they bring out some more figures with their forth coming releases.

A half track would please a lot of people, me included.

Cheers

Al

I am salivating at the mere thought that there could possibly be a new and more accurate Allied halftrack...

Lets hope...

Fingers crossed...

Money in the wallet ready to be spent...

If it were true, I would buy four of the buggers right off the bat!

now if only the aftermarket crowd would come out with artillery guns in 105mm and 75mm and other changes to make this the "sherman" variant for the halftrack lovers out here.

I must have missed something. Will there be a Firefly Ic beside the Vc (Carole) too? What is the product No. of this Ic, because I have found only two Vc version on the item list of Dragon?

A Halftrack... maybe a series of the different versions.... Too good to be true...

Just got my hands on the lovely Dragon Centurion (thanks Steve and Marcel). It looks fantastic.

More! More!

I'll have to wash it well before I build it to get all the drool off.

Hi Halica,

The Ic has just been re-released it's kit no 9037. It's not a new kit.

Here's a link to a post I ran about it which makes interesting reading.

Some nice kits to come :-) :-) :-)

Cheers

If (I mean when!!!) they do the halftracks I hope they give them the full treatment like they did the 251 series. Can you imagine? I will be in heaven, and broke!

I'm still waiting for the M4A2 Tarawa Sherman. I will be happy if this comes out in 2006. The wallet can use the rest till 2007 for the Halftracks.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the link! This one had probably been issued in the years when I did not make any models. Strange that Dragon did not put it on their website anyhow.

So, we are going to have two Fireflies... I have checked the boxart, and there is a guy with a PIAT... and on the E8 Sherman boxart there is an M16... Dreams, sweet dreams

First of all, i'll believe the M3 story when I actually hear it confirmed from a reputable INDUSTRY source.... Until that happy day arrives, etc. etc...

Nor, is it any use 'divining' future releases from the box art, I think this was discreditted years ago...

The M4a2 WILL be released this year - the hold-ups have been entirely due to corrections of the accuracy - others take note!!

Hi Laszlo,

Yip, the new Ic isn't due out for some time.

I believe the original kit had the 60 lb rockets and was of a Coldstream Guards Tank, but it had come and gone by the time I started modelling again, so this re-release is a new one for me.

I'll look forward to the update version, but first I'll be well pleased when the M4A2 Sherman Mk III comes along.

Re the Half Track, there must be 40 odd different versions possible with that kit, what a lovely range of Half Track 3 in1s sets that would make LOL, LOL

Speculation is good for the soul :-) :-)

Cheers folks

The original 9037 Kit (general release) didn't have the rockets, they were first introduced on the 75mm M4A4 W/60 lb Rockets kit. They were then included in the second rendition of the Vc kit.
The US/NA release of the 9037 1c was DML's first 3- 1 kit and had the turret from the POA flamethrower kit and 75 mm parts included so that a standard or Flame version could also be done from the kit. These had a Blue band around the bottom of the lid proclaiming the bonus parts.

I'm really looking forward to the new 1c and hope that 75mm parts are included or a seperate version is released hopefully with options of lowor High turret types
Cheers

Hi Al,

Thanks for that correction. See Shermans always something one doesn't know :-) :-) :-) .

Please look up reference before hitting keyboard LOL, LOL.

By all that I've read so far it's going to be a cracker kit and when :-) :-) we get ones with Deep Wading Gear and a DD and Dozer version I'm just going to be over the moon :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

After that they could move onto the AVRs, although as a late started I'll be playing catch up for years to come.

As I'm getting near to completion of my Mk Vs then a new version with early and late gun mantles, 4" smoke launchers and raised welds etc, etc can't be far away :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Do they have a Sherman addiction clinic

Cheers

Al
