I have an old Tamaya 1/35 scale Merkava Mk.1 that needs rebuilding in the worst way. Several moves were hard on the old girl. Anyway, I've found the Eduard makes a photo etch detail set for the Mk.1m and I can get new tracks, but the turret mounted machine guns are missing or broken (both the commander's & loader's). does anyone know where I can get replacement MGs for this tank?

The MGs are FN MAG 7.62 mm MGs, also known as L7A2s in British terminology, or M240 in the US military. Dragon has a couple in their Modern Machinegun set.

Was the M240B used in the Mk.1? I thought that was used later.

Hi James,
Although not as detailed as the Dragon MGs. The Academy kit #1372 M113 Zelda, has a couple of decent FN MAG MGs and mounts. (You also get to build the M113 kit in one of 2 options. The APC version or the Command version)

Rainbow Ten sells separate Tamiya sprues.
That might be a solution. I've ordered from them often.
http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/index.html
Use the details in the back of the kit instruction, iif you don't have it, look here:

Just look up the kit in question, and click on the instructions.

Legend has a set (no. 1057) named "IDF Tank Machine gun set". It includes two FN MAG and a .50 cal.
