Hey guys, Im doing some research before building my Tamiya Challenger 2 and feel a little generous towards this particular kit so am keen to add a few add ons to it. I'm currently considering the "BRITISH MODERN TANK CREW - BL35055F " by Blast Models. Anyone purchased this before? If so, mind sharing some feedback?
Is there a better substitute for the tank crew by other brands?
Im definitely getting the PE set which Pawel reviewed as well.
Do share your feedback on any other after market add ons.
Cheers

Well,
That certainly looks like a nice set to me.

Jazza,
Those look really good, I would go with them, Certainly avoid the AA set, I bought them and they are stuck in a spares box somewhere, such was my satisfaction..............

That crew set looks good enough in bare resin to prompt me into purchasing something green and steel to throw them into! I'd like to see that level of quality in more armor crew figures.

Yeah they are quite nicely detailed. Im still looking out for alternatives though. Managed to find the Dragon US Modern Tank Crew but no British ones.
Thanks for the feedback so far.

I've purchased the same set recently and I hope it will be in soon, they look great. I wouldn't recommend the Voyager photoetch set unless you have the Trumpeter kit. It needs it, but the Tamiya kit doesn't. Alot of the details to be replaced on the etch set look just fine on the Tamiya kit.

The blast figures are really really nice. I own the set and plan to put them in a Chally 1 when my figure painting skills come up to snuff a bit. The Blast figures are dead on accurate and they even feature the ANR headsets (a nice touch).
It is worth mentioning that Hornet make a set of heads wearing modern British tank helmets and headsets. I have that set as well and it is very very nice.
Regarding other add-ons:
I you haven't already picked up the Tamiya PE engine screens, do so. They are the most accurate ones available and should have been included with the kit in my humble opinion!
I can't comment on any of the other PE sets as I generally don't use PE.
The Lion Marc barrel is very nicely done if you feel like replacing the kit barrel. The barrel consists of a turned aluminum core with resin bits that slip on to reproduce the thermal sleeve, MRS housing and some fume extractor details. All in all it is a very nice offering.
I hope this helps
Cheers - Dan
