Hi Gents,
As you can see I dont post much. Been inspired recently to work on some "what if" '46 armour for wargaming. Built so far using some second hand, bits box Fujimi 88s and an old Ecsi Elefant. The drums on the rear of the guns are meant to be rotary magazines and will hold 6-8 rounds each. Got to make up a drive mechanism and rammer for them .....
cheers
Brent

Hey Brent,
that is a weird looking Panzer 46, and man what would the recoil be like from two 88's? You would not want to be standing behind them when they went off........the spade addition is a good idea and i would think would be needed if such a AFV had ever been built.....looking forward to seeing it completed!

I'd love to see someone make up something like that for the Multiplayer boards of COD!

Hi Carl,
yeah I thought about belt feed but it'd be pretty hard to get the full rotation and range of movement. I'm gonna do a what if SPG and was definately gonna use a belt feed for that.
As for this one I'm gonna come up with some sort of quick loading mechanism to have another 2 mags ready ....... not sure whether it'll be mounted at the rear of the vehicle itself or part of another vehicle, ala the MLRS reloading system.
cheers

This is coming along great Is the spade device from an M12? Seeing as how it's a W.W.1946 I'd go with an olive green base coat, followed by camo pattern of red brown and dark yellow I can't wait to see this done

Will it have an obvious drive motor for the drums?
Maybe something like the M16 MGC on a halftrack in US service.
If this is flak, will there be an attached rangefinder?
Will you model a cable/pulley system for raising and lowering the sides(they must be VERY heavy)?

What a wonderful idea! Good looking model too, I look forward to seeing it finished. Will you be putting in a crew?

Hi Guys,
couple of answers;
Yeah the spade is from an M12. Was gonna make one but I've a load of partially broken M12s lying aropund so I flogged one!
Its gonna have a drive system for the ammo magazines and the sides will have either small rams or pulleys.
I'm probably going to use some AB crewmen.
I was also going to make up a munitionstrager for reloading and maybe a halftrack or 38t based range finding unit. I figure the range finding vehicle could serve a battery of the SPs......... toyed with putting something on the vehicle itself but its getting a bit crowed, so the guns will only have the local sights on em.
cheers
