Can someone give me some info? I'm thinking the M35 A nothing, gas version would be the correct version for '53-'54? Can I get a M35 from the AFV kits? I was thinking the "Nancy" guntruck would be the best bet, since it is an A1.

I really need this info asap, it's very important to me. I would appreciate any guidance on this.

The AFV Club M35 A1 Nancy will work for a straight gas M 35. There is very little difference in the looks of the M 35 and the M35 A1. The A1 was an upgraded 35 to start with. The first M 35 A1 ran on gas, diesel, or anything that had an alcohol base. Remove the air cleaner cover and plug the hole in the side engine panel.

The Reo M35 entered production in 1953, a year after the M34 (available in 1/35th scale originally from Monogram and now Revell-Germany). Paradoxically, the Army solicited bids from three manufacturers for a replacement for the wartime CCKW series, then ordered two of them! Concurrent with the Reo M34 and M35, they also procured the GM M135 and M211, which had automatic transmissions, while the Reo products stuck with the standard "stick" transmission. Mainly, the Reos served overseas and the GMs stay in the continental US. The Army eventually ordered more M35s, and the M34, M135 and M211 were phased out through attrition.
For 1953, the vast majority of the Army's trucks would still be CCKW 352 and 353 trucks--it took years to replace them all. Presumably, highest priority for new equipment would have gone to units on the Free World's "front line," the inter-German frontier (strangely, Korea had a low priority for equipment, despite the fact that it was actually a combat zone).
The Nancy gun truck would probably be the best starting point for an M35. For an M34, you could swipe the load bed and wheels from the Monogram/Revell kit and mate it to the superior AFV Club chassis. There are no styrene kits of the GM trucks, though there have been die cast and resin kits of civilian vehicles with the distinctive bulldog shaped cab and engine--GM used that sheet metal for a long time, apparently.

No real knowledge here, but I would assume that the West supplied them just like we've supplied everyone else. Meaning that whatever is newish, but not used by US forces is pawned off cheap. I'd bet both the M34 or M35 were around (and probably still are)

All of them were sold as surplus after Iran Iraq war and i can not find any photos of them in thewar.
