Hello all,

I am hoping someone here on the big A can help me.

I am currently building a dio for a friends father who served with the KOBR in the Suez crisis and in Palestine.
He was the driver of a Bren Gun carrier (Universal carrier). I'm interested in all information regarding the KOBR, but would be estatic with any pictures of their carriers.
Hoping someone can help,
cheers,
AndyD.

Hi Andy

I had a quick look 'round the 'net but came up with very little of any worth. Really wanted to help you too, we're always banging on about Britain and the Commonwealth and when a question comes up no one answers...

My area of interest is mainly Second World War but I do know there are plenty of books available on Suez and Palestine, if you wanted to invest in some reference material I'd check out 'new and used' on Amazon, I've recently got some real bargains.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I hope some of the other guys can.

Good luck with a worthwhile project (I came across the Suez memorial gardens website, I didn't realise so many of our blokes got killed over there - good on your mates dad for making it back!).

You might find smething in this but it's a lot to go through:

http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=Suez+1956&ndsp=20&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&start=0&sa=N

No pictrures of carriers that I've come across yet.
