What was the coulour of British/Commonwealth tank crew uniforms (battle dress or denim suits) used in 1944? Was it the same as infantry field drab?
Thank you in advance for your help.

The basic issue uniform was exactly the same issue to all units whether infantry, airborne or armoured. Serge battledress and trousers. In 1943 they started to be issued "Pixie suits" which were the all in one overalls which were a light tan in colour lined with khaki wool but these were predominantly worn in cold weather. There was a denim drill version of the "Pixie Suit" which was unlined. In early 1945 a camouflage version was issued but this saw limited use. If you're modelling 1944 you're probably better off with basic serge battledress as the vast majority of photos I've looked at illustrate this. If it's the Ardennes obviously due to the crap weather the pixie suits came out as it was cold. Hope that's of some help.
