I have a MiG-21MF I'd love to build, and this campaign gives some motivation.
Anybody?

Andras

What would you like to put it up against??

I'm willing and happy to join you in this campaign, but i mainly build armour, and have nothing suitable in stash. I have an allowance (self imposed) of 2 kits a month max, and i'mm all done for september already, but October is not that long away, if you suggest i'll go out and buy.

If you'd prefer to build with someone closer to home, just let me know.

What would you like to build? The MiG-21 has been in service since the '60s -so anything goes from F-4 to F-16. If you wanted an excuse to buy a 1/32 Tamiya F-16, you got it

(Usually, I too, build armor.)

Andras,

Having looked into it i was thinking an f104 starfighter - funds will not allow for a 1/32 tomcat at the moment. 1/48 or 1/72 - or does it not matter??

If thats ok - we can go to the dark side and enter the campaign.

I don't think size matters (at least that's what I'm always told...)
So guns up!

It'll probably be a 1:48 - 1:72 is too small.

Do we have to enter as a team?

Having looked at the rules for entry with regard to the historical accuracy, what markings/era Mig do you have, so i can sort out markings/type of starfighter to purchase.

I have the academy MiG-21MF (which is more like a bis), and would like to finish it in a Hungarian camo (a very special, I might add).

It was a temporary paintjob for Fairford in '93.
I hope it's OK with the rules. I asked in the official tread and no one objected. I'm not sure you have to have an airplane from the same time. The MiG-21 has been in service for over 40 years.

Thats a good looking plane.

I'm thinking maybe a luftwaffe starfighter - but i'll do some research and choose a good subject.

I'm off to aeroscale to make a thread for us to post pictures and build progress posts - as i said i can't start until October - but i should be able to finish in time.

Great
I don't really know when I would be able to start, but hopefully by next week I finish up some ongoing stuff and can focus on aeroplanes again.
I have a pretty big resin set for this plane so it should take a while.

I think you will outshadow me - i'm just gonna go OOTB for this, if you don't mind?

I don't think it's about shadows Over the years I have been planning to build this kit, and bought this-and-that... Finally I can actually finish it.
(Not to mention the fact that not even the most extensive aftermarket-modifications and details can't save a poorly built kit. So just wait )

would an F-22 work

The only two kits I have in the wait are a 1/32 Hase TA-4J and a Trumpy A7 1/32. I almost picked up the big A-10 but may end up with a 1/16 T34

So two against one, huh?
I guess it would. The 21 will be in service for a while...
