Ron,
Firstly can I say how much I love your work both pubications and figures, and I enjoy tremendously painting the figures from your designs. Thank you so much for the contribution you have made to our hobby over the years, When I see your art work for a new figure set I get excited about the up and coming releases , some what like a demented puppy in a butcher’s shop… Thanks again for taking the time to canvas for our opinions. In any case my wish list comprises of the following:
I’d Love to see some
British 8th Army Western Desert , and Italy
LRDG figures in sandals and battle dress
Free French Legionnaires
British Army Commonwealth female nurses and Medics Italy
Soviet Partisans
Hitler youth boys
British army officers
Best wishes
Jerry

Maybe this thread should be stickied so that Ron can come look at suggestions when he has the chance. That way it does not get lost in the ether.
Most have already been suggested but maybe some Indian Troops would be good. They did serve everyewhere except NW Europe. Imagine the opputunity for headdress. A very simple request is for a Gen2 set of Brit infantry. None of the sets on the market are really up to scratch. My list could go one but as I have said most of it has been suggested.
Great work BTW Ron. Keep it up and thanks for listening to us.

Indian troops have been sorely under-represented in model form, which is a shame
I also 2nd your request for a simple set of Gen2 British Infantry.

Yep, apparently obvious, but IMO a far more practical and sensible suggestion than others...Jim

Thanks for all your work over the years Ron, & thanks for the opportunity for suggestions.
Crew for the new HT looks like a likely first off. A driver & set of seated figures would open lots of possibilities for use in other vehicles.
I'd echo the requests for more Commonwealth troops, what about a set of say 5 tank riders & a tank commander in Pixie suit? The tank riders could be split with jerkins/greatcoats to represent the gruelling campaigns in Holland & the Rhineland at the end of 1944. They would also be usable elsewhere - eg Italy.
The Quartermaster sets sound like a good idea, even Axis modellers would find them useful to scatter around dioramas to represent an absent enemy.
Civilians/partisans. Esci made a set many years ago - it even included a woman! Perhaps a set of assorted females (eg WAAF, ATS, German Helferein etc) would sell well? Useful for dioramas?

Ron, thanks for asking!
I agree with the others about British/Dominion troops.
How about a Nice Humber/Daimler armoured car and crew?
Best wishes and thanks again,
Roger

Hi there
Alot of nice propsals in this thread. My proposals comes to this:
- Seated figures; Drivers for vehicles (jeep, truck, DUKW) and passengers that fit trucks, half-tracks, jeeps, DUKW etc
- Figures in any 'relaxed' pose (not specifically allied, could be universal); swimming, bathing, chess-players, card-players, sleeping etc.
Cheers
Simon
Ditto the WWII seated figures, and how about modern ones, as well?

Ron,
Very simply put...a set of regular grunts in poses that could serve multiple purposes...tank riders (aka -all the new Shermies) and halftrack riders, etc...think of all the unmanned jeeps and other vehicles out there.
Out of personal selfishness-I'd love to see a new & improved US MP set....(ideally a 'Smart kit' with photoetch) including a Harley Davidson and perhaps a sidecar.
Thanks for asking,
steve

I heartily agree. A dio of Sikhs of 11th Indian Brigade defending Knights Cross at Tobruk would be awesome.
cheers!

I first saw this thread courtesy of my friend Jerry, in response to a posting I made on "another site" requesting a set of U.S. armored infantry to go with Dragon's new M2/M2A1 Halftrack. Ron, if you're monitoring the replies, I'd like to reiterate my desire for such a kit. Perhaps six poses of G.I.s riding/manning their vehicle, dressed in appropriate '42-'43 uniforms would be just the thing to compliment the vehicle. That's all I want......well, right now. Maybe we could get a set of dismounted G.I.s moving from the halftrack. We sure do appreciate your work, Ron. Keep it up. Best regards, Dave

Hi Ron, thanks for the chance of input. I'll keep it to six choices:
1. A set of 8th Army troops (6 fig set) with optional heads for Indians and Aussies
2.A set of US 2AD tank riders similar to Steve Z's on his Cobra Sherman (Gen 2 with optional poses
3. A set of Brit Multipose similar to the old Airfix but sharpened up to current standards. I've always though that set offered a lot of poses from the basic figs. (same could be done for Germans, US etc. ) they could even have a new figure range called Squad Builders or similar)
4. A set of 6 HT crew/passengers (you could also do a set of German FJ in a captured one - tunisia . Wearing Field Caps and Great coats)
5. A set of Brit NWE 6 pdr gun crew in action with a nice DML multimedia 6 pdr MkIV (they could follow it up with an M1 with US crew Battle of the Bulge
6. A set of Commonwealth Desert/Italy Tank crew
Ron, I know you have tried to get us Allied releases in the past and we have really appreciated what we got. A note of thanks to you and the good folks at DML for the excellent Allied subjects we are seeing. The Shermans are manna from heaven, particularly the C'wealth Sher III.
Thanks once again.
Al

Al I like the way you think.
Really good ideas!
Also the gentleman who suggested Indian troops - great idea! Really underrated soldiers and as you say served in most places. Al's Idea about interchangeable heads would make them more practical saleswise.

Also seconding the idea of bare chest generic figures(skin paint challenge! :-) ) Bare feet!
Afrika Korp in greatcoats,Brits/Dominion too!
Gear: goggles,spectacles,pipes.
Armor: Staghounds,Diamlers,Humbars,AEC.......247 4and 6 rad?
Bring back the Panhard!
OK,I'm done! Thanks Ron! Keep on truckin'!!
Cheers!
