Well I just started working on mine, and I started by cleaning up those track blocks and clicking them together. I plan on opening things up and putting in the CMK resin engine pack. This one will take awhile..

I just got mine delivered today and I have to say WOW!! Two thumbs up to Dragon. I just wish they would take just a short brake from WWII German and give us a couple more modern works of art like this one.
Now I just need to work up the courage to tackle this project!!

No courage needed. The kit is great and goes together well with the exception of the 50 cal mount. I had a few problems with fit there. A few other minor fit problems but nothing major. Be sure to keep an eye on the barrel set up especially if your using the metal one. Basically you just need to keep everything in line. I'm almost done and I'm eady to build my 2nd one. Have fun!!

I just ordered mine, and I'm looking for an engine pack to go with it, but all I can find is the Legend Productions and thats not that good of a pack. I have looked for others but cannot find any, where did you find the CMK pack? I am also looking for an interior for mine. I thought about getting an older Dragon, but I'm not too sure that I want to spend that much for just the interior. As it is, I have to spend a but load to get the mine roller bra from the Panther II kit. I am tring to model the tank that I served on in Iraq, and we just so happened to have the roller bra....
Thanks for any info that you can help me out with.

Hey Mike,
I got my CMK tank engine pack from Sprue Bros in Kansas, you can order online from them and they provide excellent service.
PMMS on the web have a review of it.

Well the consolation of buying the older Dragon kit is you can use it and some sheet styrene to make one of these:

I started mine last week and am almost finished. I am very impressed with it and it was most definately worth the wait.

Which one of the older DML M1 kits had an interior? I know you can often get them fairly cheap.

All previous DML M1A1 kits include a partial interior. They are quite accurate and a great base to make a full interior from. I used one for my USMC M1A1HC "Angry American".

Dragon #3517 M1A1 w/ Crew. is the one that has the interior. I don't know if any others have it, and I think that it was only the Drivers Crew Compartmeent that it had, (please don't quote me on this) and not the Turret Interior. However the turret interior will not be all that hard to recreate if you have some really good photo's, some sheet plastic, and the time to do it. Verlinden makes a M1A1 detail set (VL-1967), that has the ammo doors, and some interior parts representing some of the TC and Loader station compinents, along with the battery box for the rear deck. But this Verlinden kit lacks the Gunners GPS and station, again, that would not be that hard to make from scratch with sheet plastic as it is just really a rectangle with nobs and switches (hahaha sounds easy). It also includes PE parts, but if your gonna use it with the Dragon M1A1 AIM, you will not need them.

Not true, it had turret interior as well, although rather simplified.

As Pawel says, it has a rudimentry turret interior as well. All of them did, not just the one with crew. It is a standard part of their kit.

Well like I stated, "please don't quote me on this" I wasn't sure if they all did or not, as I have been out of modeling for a long time, about 5 years and before that I didn't build too many models other than Tamiya's (though all modern AFV's) and what I know now is just from a bunch of research that I have been doing here of late. #:-) #:-) #:-)

Gino when I first read this I thought you meant the interiors were quite accurate. I said "I can't believe Gino just said that!!!" It took me a minute to figure out that's not what you said
