I am fairly certain that the PzKfw IV (and StuG IV) that are priced in the $15 range are the old ones that were copies of the old Tamiya kit. I bet one of the panzer builders here probably has more info on the kits.

Some are, some aren't. the pz II and III are, but I think the tiger is their own tooling.

Their Tiger is an excellent kit with full interior, a much better buy for your money than the Tamiya, just not as good a fit. The Panzer IV's are apparently copies of the old motorized Tamiya kits and not of Italeri's respectable kit. HTH

yes the old panzer iv's are copies.. i recommend you get the tamiya iv's as they are retooled for the news standards in the market.... our brother Flakdog found out the hardway, and is still working on ejector pin marks with the academy whirlwind. it's ok man the voices will stop when you put the academy kit down..hehehehe but i recommend the tiger to anyone want ing to build a nice tiger for a dio or display. good luck stug

as far as I can discern .. the newer Academy stuff is great such at the Tiger I Early with interier.. but their older stuff is just copies of even older stuff

I love the old Tamiya kits, darn it. If you can make it there, so to speak. I'll post some pics of the ancient Tamiya Brummbar and Stug IV kits that I'm working on. Enough zimmerit and good looking figures well, hell, you've got yourself a decent diorama.
Just my point oh two dollars.
