Whilst on holidays in the US early this summer i bought one of the McFarlane Military Figures. (The standing sniper with elbow leaning on a wall) I must say they are highly detailed and so well finished. Wish i could get them over here for $11.95 each. I should have brought more home with me, but the suitcase was full of all the other goodies we purchased out there.
My point is this, are these figures models, or are they, like the Dragon figures, more like Action Man figures. I think of them as collectors items, no building or painting work required . Just rip them out of the pack and display them. I took this one to my local model club and was tempted to say i had built it. But i realised the guys would just say "Yea right ".

Action Dolls, not models at all. I have seen some who repaint the faces and hands, but they still look like dolls to me.

Gino
These are not dolls. Completly different, I had Action Man years ago,
(I think you called them J.I. Joe). These figures don't have the ball and socket joints and are static. They are very detailed figures . I agree there is no modelling skills required but like the Force Of Valour vehicles they offer an alternative to those of us who dont always have enough time to buits our kits.it was probably playing with action figures which developed my intrest in building models.
I think they are a fantastic display model and i have already had friends who are not intrested in models notice them in my office. i just wish they did some British figures.
Just to say we are think of you all in America Today
God Bless

Thanks for your thoughts today.
Sorry, I have seen them and they still look like dolls to me.

Hi Guys
Funny i was in a gun shop the other day the owner had a couple of these figures in a small display, and i was quite impressed with the detail along with it was some pic s of the owners son serving in Iraq, ,as far as i can see they are mass produced figures so what i buy are smaller dolls ...cookie made a point if they are cheap and easily accsesable then it might stir a passion amongest the younger generation to take up this hobby.
Just my 2 cents
Cheers Chris
