It sounds like you're putting it on in too heavy of a coat.....if you are getting build up anywhere on a model when spraying paint on it....start over and spray light coats....let the one dry a bit before spraying the next.
It's a shame but it sounds like you'll have to strip your model and start again.

I thin mine at 2 of thinners to one of matt. Works good too, or does for me at least.

You have to make sure that thinner and dull coat are well mixed... because the coat tends to go to the bottom and the thinner to the top of the bottle. Otherwise, you risk to see the white stains again...

Have to echo what's been said - I thin mine about 2 to 1 (approximation) and I spray multiple thin coats, letting each dry for a while (10 -15 minutes). Thats what I do.

Here what I do: I don't apply coats. In theory there are dozens of good reasons to aply a coat. However I'm still waiting to gere a good practical reason to proceed with a coat. Truth is that I have models of 1980 in perfect shape whithout any kind of coat. I can't imagine what good would a coat do to them, back in 1980. But I can easily imagine what would happen if something would go wrong while aplying the coat. Not to mention that coats costs money.

Either the matt wasn t stirred well or the matt has expired. I find that leaving matt uncapped spoils it. Read somewhere that the white stuff is actually powder which is used as a flattening agent...........
