Ok. I need some info on spray booths.I currently just vent out a window in the basement which is not cool to say the least. I know theres a reason why you pay big bucks for the ready made ones but is it overkill? Does anyone know a good way to build one and make it work well. What type of fans etc. I know Finescale had plans for one back in 2000 or so but I cant find the pull out.

Make sure you use brushless computer fans - and depending on volume you may need two fans.

Scott, can I ask you why we should'nt use an electric motor with brushes? I've read this can cause fire issues with paint and solvant? Is that true or a myth?
Because me when I built my booth I was not aware of this. I have built a booth with an old kitchen fan and it's not a squirrel cage, so when I spray toward the back of the booth I spray through the fan and on the motor.... Although I managed a box shaped shield made of alu foil around the motor to deflect direct paint [auto-censored].
Notting caught in fire until now, but I do keep an extinguisher in my room.
So, does electrical motor are really dangerous? Can anyone confirm, and to which extent?
Thanks in advance.
