This is Trumpeter 1/72 IS-3M. It will be finished in Eqyptian markings. The best bits are that Trumpeter have supplied metal wire for handles instead of moulding them onto the hull. Also they supply 2 version of the tracks. A fully made up set, designed with wargamers in mind I think, and another set you get make yourself with link an length tracks. Wanting to do a quick build I opted for the former which are just as good as the seperate suspension bits.

That looks pretty good Ross. I'm putting the finishing touches on Trumpeters IS-3M in 1/35. Wished they had supplied metal wire for the handles in the 1/35 kit as well.

Hi Ross,

Thought you might like to see a completed 1/35 scale Trumpeter kit in Egyptian markings:

Looks good. Better, worse or on par with the Roden JS-3?

im tempted to buy this kit, though I'm not a 1/72 builder. I made one before in 1/35 scale also from trumpeter. IIRC, the decals included are only used in military parade. Im not really sure though

here's mine:

Hey I hopw to see yours done very soon

Great pics guys. The same IS-3M I am doing. It does seem to be a popular vehicle.

Robin - Not sure as I have not seen the roden kit. But based on some review of Roden's kit I would think this is better and slightly more refined. As I mentioned you get 2 sets of running gear, one pre - built a la wargame style, or individual wheels and link and length tracks.

Wow Ross that looks great, I would never of guessed they were 'wargame' tracks they look very well detailed.

I have the Roden kit in my started pile and I must say that the Trumpeter kit looks to be more detailed or it may be your work

Heres to seeing it finished

Ciao

Hi Ross,

Looking great - will look for the finished pics!

I haven't seen this kit in the flesh so to speak so I was very interested in the track work. As mentioned its not bad for a single moulding, much better than i thought..................

cheers
Brent

You have fitted the fuel tanks in the sides of the hull the wrong way. I donīt know if you could correct them without too much damage, but if you can (and want), they should have the grab handles horizontal to the ground and the fuel filler caps at the top.
I hope you can understand my poor english.
