These are some figures i'll be usin' in my dio', for my '222'! As you can see a couple of 'em relate to each other, but I can only pick jus' three of 'em, 'cos the '222' had only a crew of three!
These have been sanded and have had an application of Mr. Dissolved Putty in the joins. I'll go over it with this stuff one more time, sand and then primer.

The guy on the far right had to have the spoon cut in half and modified to fit his hand, I also used some old PE sprue for the straps to his goggles, around his neck!

Very nice figs. I think when you paint them in some slightly different schades/hues, the 'family resemblance' may be less obvious (not that it is now, as far as I can see).
Speaking of painting, what colour(s) do you use for the uniforms, I'm working on a dio of the DAK myself and can't seem to get the colour right...

Paul,

Looking forward to this one too. Figures have always been my nemesis.

Nice set, clean construction. Does the guy with the water can's legs seem a bit on the thin side to anyone else?

Yeah John, They do look a little stork like to me too but otherwise they look very good.

Hi there

Those are some really nice looking figgies. They're in some very realistic poses and I like the faces from what I can see.

Good job, and good luck with it.

Cheers

I´ll say.
My figures never look this clean before painting. I have a habit of re-scribing some details as it makes painting much easier. Then with putty, changing heads, etc ... they look a real mess at this stage.
I like this figure set ... very natural and very suitable for a relaxed scene. Check the socks and boots for mold lines .. especially the drinking guy!

A good base colour is humbrol 83 - ochre. Then add browns, greens, sands and greys to this, to vary the different garments.

Yes they look thin ... but IMO, possible. My mate is a pretty strong guy ... a carpenter by trade, but mostly builds roofs ..which involves quite a lot of hump work. He never wears shorts, as we take the p1$$ out of him because of his skinny legs!

Thanks guys, for your feedback on these!

This is the Dragon set of DAK figures, Dn6063.

The guy drinkin', with the jumper is gonna' be dropped. it's a shame, I know but I only need three! I think i'll still paint him up though.

I've put in an order for a fair few of Vallejo's Model Colour, like some Khaki colours and some sand and sandy brown colours. I would appreciate it if you guys could give me a list of Vallejo's colours that you may have used for DAK colours, that might apply. It would help me, no end in discernin' the right shades to buy!

I plan on shadin' 'em with oils and maybe highlightin' 'em with Vallejo Model Colour, with retarder mixed in with the paint, for blendin'!

The legs on the pourin' guy are thinner, but that is jus' characterful, and in the flesh (no pun intended), doesn't look like a bad sculpt at all!

Cheers, all!

I've started on these, now! I use Vallejo acrylics for the base colours, and oils for post shadin' and highlightin'!

Great progress thus far! I really need to get another set of these figures for a DAK Panzer IVE project I want to do. Your painting and shading are top notch. Keep up the great work! Dave

Nice job! Be sure to use that little pooch in the kit, too! Keep up the great work and don't be afraid to include some darker olive drab shades on the shorts and shirts. Adios, for now! Dave

Thanks, guys!

This one is finished, two down one more to go!

The water can has decals applied 'Trinkwasser 18L', on three sides of the can, and are by Cartograph! The basecoats were Vallejo Model Color, and the highlight and shade colours were solely mixed from oil paint.

All three figures are finished now! I jus' wanted to show a mock-up of how I want everythin' to look, minus the lizard at the moment! It's amazin' what a few figures can really do to a build!

I'm gonna' use and surface an old Tamiya 1/24 Display Case C, which I had knockin' around. This way I can protect it from dust and other crap floatin' around in the atmosphere!

I've started the base by layin' down some clay and then textured it with Vallejo's Coarse Pumice and Sandy paste! The sandy Paste is a real fine and slightly gritty substance and can be used as a 'rust' texture as well.

After this had dried I applied some more Pumice and Woodland Scenics Coarse Ballast, and then a final application of sandy Paste over this to mate everythin' together!
