This post seemed tom get lost in the recent computer problems, so I re posting it.

I have purchased a Hobby Fan M113/TOW conversion and was wondering if anyone has built it or if anyone would commentb on their thoughts about Hobby Fan products. This will be my first Hobby Fan product.

Delta42,
I have only one complaint with Hobby Fan, TO EXPENSIVE!!!!!
I built there M911 HET and Trailer when it first came out, and it was beutifull. I also built there little FAV vehicle and several figure sets from them.
Grey is right about there packaging, need to be a little more carefull with that.

I'm in on the expensive problem, but not the packaging.

I just got the M163 interior, with the wiring molded in resin!!! Not one broken or miscast part! It's amazing!

Best packed resin kit I've seen yet.

I have not received the kit from the Ebay seller, but this is the link to the Ebay page if anyone wants to see the box art.

I can also chime in on the expensivness of the Hobby Fan products. That's one of the reasons I was interested to see how others felt.

I had a Canadian friend do that very thing, and since we trade kits all the time, postage to me from Canada was free (I pay to send him stuff.. it works)
The combination of his ordering from HK and the US-CAN $$ conversion, I got the M163 for a much better price than I could find here in the states.

Sorry, he's deployed right now so no new orders soon..-grin-

For those who were interested, I received the kit today. It was packed really well with styro popcorn inside the box to keep small parts from moving around. The kit looks great. Lots of detail that I have not seen in other kits. Since I worked with this particular vehicle in Germany in the 70's, I can say that the kit is very accurate, and I am looking forward to building it sometime in the future.

Delta42,

Glad to hear you like the kit. I have one in the mail. My scout platoon drew three of these vehicles from storage during REFORGER'78. Even got a "kill" on a German Marder with one. Scouts don't get many shots, gotta make them count!!!

Hey Ranger74

I was in Reforger '78 too. I had the Four Deuce plt in my Bn at that time. I have been looking for pictures of the TOW track with the TOW Cap ( Balistics Cover) but to no avail.

I kind of remember what it looked like, but memory fades with age. If you come across any photos, let me know.

Hey Delta 42 - that was one WET Reforger. The TOWCAP looked sorta like a very small maintenance tent in shape. I look around for any photos or line drawings. Found a bunch of my old ARMOR mags, maybe thereis something in them.
