Hello everybody. In the 80s the Czechoslovakian army developed an outstanding piece of artillery, a self-propelled 152mm cannon placed onto an 8 wheeled Tatra. I think this things name is Dana or something similar. Does anybody produce a 1/35 replika of it?

Yes, Panzershop makes an excellent model of this vehicle - its just been retooled as well. The kit was reviewed in MMiR, but I cannot recall which issue. This isn't a kit for the timid or inexperienced though.

Here's a link to Panzershop site and the Dana

You may want to shop around, or maybe keep an eye on eBay. I was able to get my DANA for $110. Still a big chunk of change.

And Pnzershop has announced their P-40 "longtrack" mobile radar. For $350. A lot of PE, but holy moley. Save up those pennies people.

Holy S**T, that´s one insanly big peace of artillery and it´s on WHEELES not tracks. Why on earth is that?
I knew that the Warsawpact built some outright strange and absurd vehicles , but this one takes the price.
Didn´t the East German army (NVA) have a massive tracked artillerypeace called "Pion" or "Zion" or something? That one was huge.

Road mobility, I imagine. Wheels are a lotmore efficient on roads than tracks. You lose some off road capability, but it may not matter if you have a good road network. The South African G6 is a similar piece of kit.

The Soviets have a piece called Pion, the 2S7, with a 203 mm tube and a range of about 37km. It's actually not huge, it just seems that way from the proportions of the chassis. It is not unlike the older American M107 175mm gun, although the Pion is somewhat larger.

Is there any model company out there that has made a 1/35 scale Pion?

Not that _I've_ ever heard of but I'm not the biggest expert on Warpac kit.

Panzershop is releasing a Pion as well. On their webpage it shows it to be released in September of 2006. I don't think it is available yet but give it a little more time and could be yours!
