Hi there.

You had asked about the interior hatches for the ammo bins in the PzIV a while back. I had mentioned the Achtung Pz Pz IV book then. Ian Allen's new Pz IV book has lots of interior drawings (I saw the book in a Barnes and Noble nearby).

To answer your current question, I believe the upper regions of the turret and hull were painted white (off white! oops). There is some evidence for a pale green/blue color for lower regions. See David Byrden's Tiger I site for discussion ( http://tiger1.info) . A while back, someone on ML had discussed evidence for luminescent paint in the driver's area of some Panzers. This was some time ago, and I don't have the link.

I believe a lot of the tranny, hardware etc. were painted primer red. Again. the Achtung Panzer book is a great source for information, including photos of old and restored Pz IV.

Cheers

The colour for the interior is:
Ivory not white (or an off white as white is too stark for an interior) on most internal parts if you research it properly IVORY is correct, Most of the upper portion of the interior of these tanks was usually painted a light ivory color called 'Elfenbein', although white was apparently used on occasion, especially when major repairs in the field were necessary. The floor and sponson walls might be dark gray, a dark greenish gray, or even primer red, depending on the factory of manufacture, the date of completion, and whether the vehicle has been damaged and repaired.

Generally I would suggest the following:
Red Primer on the floor, Black leather seats and radio equipment.
As stated above, I remember this topic from a while back.
Get the book or as I mentioned before go to :

This site will give you all the info you need IF you read the articles.

Yep, I could have sworn I typed off white the first time...

Oh well, the edit function can come in handy!

Cheers
