How long were T-34 type tanks used by Warsaw Pact nations, and what types? I main refer to gun tanks, but also those converted to recovery vehicles, etc.

While the T-54 replaced it on Soviet production lines by 1950, the T-34-85 remained in production in Poland and Czechoslovakia until 1956. No doubt it remained in service well into the 1960's.

Some are still in use for training in some of the former Warsaw Pact nations. Some even saw combat in Serbia during the 1990,s! Many of the T-34/85,s used by the Warsaw Pact were Czech or Polish built.

Probably still some around today in places like Bulgaria. The gun tanks were mostly -85s, but the East German NVA did operate some tanks with the 76mm gun and hexagonal turret early on. The Czechs may have too as their Army Museum at Lesany has one of the rare Uralmash turretted tanks on show.

Poland continued to use their T-34-76's into the 50's. Finland had at least seven 76mm gunned tanks and six 85mm T-34's in 1959 (though they were not WarPac).
The DDR apparently used a number of T-34-85's as "OpFor" vis mods up to the reunification.

Thanks everyone!
But further questions: how would the tanks be painted and marked? And when did the Warsaw Pact nations receive significant numbers of T-54/55's, and did they still depend on the T-34/85's for active service?
