Someone did several NASCAR tanks in an issue of Fine Scale Modeler a few months ago. My daughter did that to the Zhengdefu Challenger tank. She painted it in a nice red, white and blue scheme and used some NASCAR decals that I had from a Ford Thunderbird kit. Decals didn't quite fit, but she really didn't care.

Might work but will the sponsors release a low-viz color scheme? #:-)

That is pretty good, I also like the one of the shuttle with all the corporate logos on it. #:-)

A number of years ago, a model club I was in in Wisconsin got a deal on a case of Italeri HMMWV kits. One of the NASCAR modelers bought four of them, lowered the suspensions and changed the wheels and tires, and did them up in gloss paint and racing livery using decals he had picked up as door prizes at car modeling contests. Very cool.

A few months later, we got a case of Monogram NASCAR kits. I got one and -- in the spirit of things -- began to convert it to a halftrack. I never finished it (kind of lost interest in all that bodywork), but it did get far enough along to dub "the Half-ASCAR."
