HI guys.. I am trying to do washes with enamel and oil paints for my figures and AFV's but every time I mix a little of my odorless mineral spirits with them. it makes the paint kinda break up .. acts like when you add oil to water . Any thoughts what the problem could be. The brand of mineral spirits I am using is called Stevenson Odorless mineral spirits, I picked it up a an art store. So it wasnt cheap..
I am stressing out cause I have tryed using acrylic washes but the dont work at all

Thanks

Red-

I kinda had the same problem.

I tried using humbrol enamel paint with turpenoid to make a wash and the enamel pigment did not "fracture(?)". I made a wash with artist oils and turpenoid and it was fine. The ois pigment broke up nicely and whn applied flowed well, too.

Eventually, I bought some humbrol thinner. Used that with the enamel and that wash was fine.

For me at least, I don't mix enamels with turpenoid thinner.

Good luck!
