Hi all,
I wanted to know what type of rifle was given to all those german grunts during the war and that were consider standard issue. I think that there may be many types but the one I am looking for had a distinguishable small round (circle like) plate attached onto the butt of the gun. I am sorry, I don't know too much about rifles and specific guns in general (specially those used by the germans during the war) but I think you all know what I am talking about.
Lastly, is there a 1/35 version of it I could get from somewhere?
Thanks much,
RobC

Hi,
Hope the following link helps
http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-weapons/enemy_ww2.htm
Most model manufactures (figures anyway) produce them - the dragon gen2's with hollow barrels are supberb.
cheers

The rifle pictured below was the standard rifle issued to German soldiers. It is the K-98 Mauser. The disc on the buttstock was used to assist in dis-assembling the rifle bolt. Like Andy said, the Gen 2 figures from Dragon come with them and they are very nice. Tamiya also make a WWII German weapons set that includes them.
