The osprey book building the T34/76 is really good for seeing what others achieve.

Osprey book T-34 Medium Tank 1941-45. This is a good book for any T-34 builder! If you know anyone who has the Trumpeter 1/16th T-34 1942 or 1943 kit, look at the instruction sheet. About 70% of those kits are interior!!

The Trump interiors are really pretty poor but I think some folks get blinded by the shear number of parts!
A great photo reference is this:

This one too has some very useful images:

As for drawings I have a nice scale drawing of the firewall based on my own measurements of the APG tank as well as the -76 in the Littlefield collection. Leave me a message here or email me directly and I'll be happy to share what I have with you.

Raider- What interior details are you looking for? Keep in mind that the interiors would vary depending on which factory built the tank, and what parts were on hand during the build. The Trumpeter kits were based on T-34,s at a museum in China.

I'm looking for things like control rods, springs, and wiring and the like.

Hi Terry,

The best photo reference, interior and exterior, of a T-34/76 (and T-34/85) is Chris "Toadman" Hughes' CD. Only $8 for over 400 high-qulaity photos...a deal hard to beat.

Here's a review by Armorama's Vinnie Branigan.

One drawback with Chris' CD...there aren't any photos of the engine.

For drawings, this site by Chris Orchard has a bunch of incredible ones plus tons of information about the T-34. It has the wiring and controls diagrams you're looking for...
T-34 TANK: SHORT SERVICE MANUAL

Here is are the best links I have for photo references for the T-34/76...

Vladimir Yakubov's photos of Littlefield's T-34/76...
http://russiannavy.net/photos/littlefield/Sept_2004/T-34-76/

He has the same photos as well as other collections here...

For the engine, these pages at the TheTankMaster are great...

As well as these at TanxHeaven...
http://tanxheaven.com/ludob/t34engine/t34enginelb.htm

While you're there, check out what the talented Liejon Schoot did with a T-34/85 kit. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the completed model...
http://tanxheaven.com/ljs/t34-85modljs/t34-85modljs.htm

He also has some pics of a cut-out T-34/85 which might find interesting...

You'll probably like these three photos too...

Best of luck with it. It's a great kit.

Be careful about using the reference links above for making a wartime T-34-76 (Great list BTW, Karl).
The Littlefield -76, though in great shape and well restored, was used well into the post-war years by Poland and as such saw a number of upgrades that basically brought it up to T-34-85 mechanical standards. On the interior this shows up as various fittings on the firewall, the inclusion of only six ready rounds as opposed to nine, as well as the mechanism for the engine fan/tranny louvers being moved back to the rear suspension tower on the driver's side.
Also, the transmission and engine photos are from T-34-85's and there are differences between these and "as produced" T-34-76's. The majority of -76's would have been fitted with the four speed transmission which, though similar, has a number visual differences with the later five speed. Also, it seems that many, if not most, would have been fitted with the "Pomon" engine air filter which sat on top of the engine as opposed to the "Cyclone" type which were located in the transmission bay (the references I have seem to disagree on the introduction date for the later air filters so this is my "best guess" given the information I have on hand).

Hi Terry, & welcome to the site. I've got quite a few pics of the AAFTankmuseum's t-34 if they'd be of use. may take a day or 2 tro dig 'em out of the hard drive, but you're welcome to them. Keeping MCR's last warning in mind, I believe this is a Czech occupations force T-34, so it may not be exactly "spec". Got some nifty shots of the engine/firewall/driver's compt. if you're still interested, tho.

LD
