Just finished this one up on Saturday. This is Dragons early Hetzer. I used Voyagers photo etch set (highly recommend), CMKs metal barrel and resin mantlet, and Friulmodels metal tracks. I also added some scratch details here and there. I even rebuilt the front suspension from strip styrene to give the nose a heavier look due to the weight of the main gun. (this process is covered in Ospreys book on the Hetzer) I also rebuilt the remote machine gun mount and added some missing details there. The antannae was made to work exactly like the real thing. It can be removed if desired. The armor surface was textured with Mr Surfacer.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. I used Mi pigments for the exhaust. Diluted with water to a paste and brushed on using various shades. I love those things!

Hi Tim,

You belched another beautiful work. i like the muffler chipping and rusting, it looks realistic to me. It looks as if you have another winner here.

Cheers

Wow...this is one sweet build!

The fading of the camo colors, the rusting on the muffler, the dirt and grime overall, the tracks...everything is really top notch stuff here.

I sense a prize in your future sir.

Very nice Tim. The painting and weathering is superb. Your style looks restrained, but is very effective. I think the wheels, especially, turned out perfect. The said painting and weathering have really made the most of the details.
Do you manage to complete one model per month? Or more?? I remember quite a few recently, and all finished to a very high standard!

Very very nice Tim

All the extras you added really make your Hetzer stand out.
Good luck in the competition

Thankyou very much gentlemen for the great remarks. Its a great feeling to know that Im on the right path of modeling
I actually manage to get 1 model a week out. Until I return to work this is all I do. Its been fun, but, it does start to burn me out at times. So, occasionally I'll do something besides armor, like the Star Wars Speederbike Im working on right now.

Another stellar build! Something about your paintwork not only makes it look full-scale, but since we know its 1/35 it still looks like its 6lbs of steel and in no way styrene Love the leaky seals on the roadwheels too and the just-so-right rust effects. Drooping the nose really gives it a look of heft-you can picture in your head that thing rocking and bobbing if you're rough on the throttle

Fantastico!

Thankyou gentlemen! This was my first attempt at altering the undercarriage (except for the new Dragon kits). Even though its a subtle effect, I still like the way it comes out, and will try doing this more often when possible.
