Is the problem Rustall or Future?

I finshed the paintjob on my 234/4; I applied a coat of Future. After it dried, I did a black wash over the whole kit, then pin washed details. After this dried, I put a coat of Rustall on the mufflers, and they turned a ghastly blotchy white. That is the first time that has happened to me.

I fixed the mufflers by melting several colors of oils on them and then washing them with a couple of coats of Burnt Umber.

What do you guys think caused that? If the Rustall attacked the Future, it's never happened before. What gives?

I think the alcohol base of the Rustall reacted with a not totally cured Acrylic Future. Perhaps the Rustall was applied to heavily instead of several thin coats?
The alcohol base of Rustall while flashing off attracts moisture out of the air and will turn the acrylic (or a laquer base) white.

Guilty as charged. I've used Rustall over Future before but maybe too much too quick with increased humidity as well as the effects of swamp gas..........

I got in hurry and made more work for myself. I do think that the different hues made by melting the oils is a good finish. I'll post some photos when I'm done. Thanks.
