I have never scratchbuilt anything before. Are there any guides or tutorials on how to scratchbuild figures that you guys would suggest? My ultimate goal is to scratchbuild a 1/35 scale woman to recreate a peice of art. How difficult a thing am I walking into?

Anything you can give me would be helpful.

Kevin take a look at this on Historicus Forma
http://hfmodeling.kitmaker.net/forums/83986&page=1
and here on planet figure
http://www.planetfigure.com/forums/index.php?showforum=176
lots more info on both sites and I'm sure you'll be directed to many more useful references if you post this question on Historicus Forma.

Hi Kevin,

Historicus Forma's resident sculpting master, and Sculpting DG host, Markus Eckmann is currently running a sculpting SBS - which is the link Pat kindly supplied. While is for a 75mm figure, the same principles apply to all scales.

How difficult is it? Well that depends on you and the subject. I personally believe prehaps starting on a conversion may be easier, but I'm also all for jumping in at the deep-end, as I recently did.

Check out the links Pat supplied, and then feel free to post some questions and progress shots in HFM's Sculpting DG.

That you both. These look like great points to start at, and I'll be sure to post over in that forum. And don't worry, I'll be sure to post pics of any success, and maybe some failures if it looks like progress to me :-). Im going to try jumping right in, and if I don't see improvement, maybe knock it back to trying conversions for a while.
