Did the Mark III and the Vehicles on the Decal Sheet fight in North Africa? The limited phots I have of Shermans in North Africa are cast hull shermans (M4A1 I think...).

Joy oh joy! Mr Dragon you are spoiling us :-) . Never really had that much interest in N.Africa but this is going on my list of kits to buy! Question is do we get any Eighth Army to go with the tank? :-)

Yes, the Wiltshire yeomanry fought throughout the campaign with 10AD as part of the 9AB from Egypt to Tunisia. From Nov 42 they were issued M4A2 and served in these until May 43. I believe at this stage they changed Brigades and served in Italy but I am unsure of which formation. There is a possibility they were reinforcements for RAC regts.
Many Brit units used the M4A2 in NA and there is a bit of dispute as to which type of Sherman first saw action (A1 or A2). A2's wit hthe M3 Suspension, dv hull were the first to see action (of the A2's) at almost the same or maybe before the Cast Hull A1's. The Welded and Cast hood variants also were used at this stage along with DV hulls with 1 piece tranny and M4 Suspension.
Cheers

Well I guess I will have to add another Sherman to my list. This A2 as well as the Tarawa tank will be must haves.

It is in 1/35th scale - they've been doing it with 1/72nd scale for a while and YES, IMO, it's the correct direction to move in...Jim

Stepping Ahead DML. The DS tracks are a defining point in the model sherman history. This is a quantum improvement over indies IMHO.
Pavel, could DML do a seperate set of just DS tracks for T49, t51,t54 and a set of 83 link T62 UK Chevron?
These would be a great addon to other Sherman related products. This has been the best year ever and is likely to remain so for me for a long time.
Do DML have any plans to redo the Vc as a Premium with all the new and upgraded Sherman bits?
Cheers and Thanks

There are plans, but it's NOT a very high priority at the present moment - next Firefly will be the 1c (cast hull please!) and then another Sherman I really can't mention....hehehe..

Is this really necessary Jim?
I mean, I'd reach a level of content satisafaction, with the knowledge and images of the M4A2 and Sherman III digested and sitting well within my person. And now a throw-away line by your good self will get me sitting up at night with chills and visions... M4A3(75)W, M4A3E2, M4A1(75) DV, M4A1 DD, Crab earthworm, Aunt Jemima, jibberish!! :-)

Good Lord! :-) :-) :-) First the Halftrack, then the T-34, then the Tarawa M4A2 then this? At this rate, even my savings for Christmas won't be enough to grab all of them :-) :-)
Thanks for the update Jim!

This is such a great companion to the Tarawa A2 . I have visions of a couple of 8th Army or even 1st Army , Shermans dancing in my pointed little head.
And the half tracks too? and yet another Sherman in the series?

Just when I think I'm commited to 1/72 (and eagerly awaiting the DML Firefly) they tempt to build in 35th with this beauty.......
I'll be keeping an eye out in the LHS for this one

I've only seen the DS product in limited quantity and it looks great for near resin detail with flexibility. Would make a great alternative to indies for any non-sagging track application such as M1's, Shermans, Stewarts and the like. I love indies, but not necessarilly the 3 piece per link ones I don't think they would work on a T34 though
