Well, the tank is finished. The crew will arrive in a couple of days.

This is Tamiyas M1A2 OIF version with a few improvements. I have added No-Slip, BRE, Extra armour for the exhaust, AFV tracks, Resin drive sprockets and some scratchbuilt details. Airbrushed with Xtracrylic US Gulf War Armour, and weathered with oils and Mig pigments. Stowage is Tamiya, Legend and Verlinden.
This is mostly a "generic" Abrams since I used Tamiyas original 2003 decals, but I guess the vehicle I have built is more like a late 2004 version. However, I built it to get rid of some spare parts from my latest Abrams, and basically added whatever I thought looked cool from several Abrams pictures.

Hey Erik

Congrats on your build. Really like the idea you had.
Nice touch with all the extra stowage. Isn't that nice that artistic freedom??

Love it

Whoa...that's a great looking Abrams you built there Erik, I just got the newer Dragon kit and hope my will look as battle worn as yours. Everything added on is perfect, well live in. Where did you get the water bottles from, I would love to get a large hand full. Please update with the figures

nice job on the Abrams Erik! Another top notch build. Where did you get the extra bustle rack from and rear armour from?

Wonderfully finished! Love the combination of mods like the slat armor, BRE and jerry can rack.

Saved the pix for my collection.

If I may comment...I wish you drilled out the mounting tabs on the mantlet. It would've made your build even better.

If you are referring to the water bottle next to the loaders hatch it was in the kit.

The BRE was made by our own Gary (garyj36) and the slat armour is Eduard PE. Not quiet sure if I like the PE. It was a pain to build and I have not seen any M1s with this exact armour. However, the PE came from a Big Ed set, so I thought better to use it than throw it away.

Great attention to detail, nice paint job and very nice weathering. This tank would look excellent as part of a diaorama. Good Luck Erik
