Hey, welcome to the site. Nice job on the kit, is it Tamiyas old Sdkfz 7? I just purchased the kit to use in a dio, and was wondering how it built up?

Glad to be here!
Yes it is Tamiya's
I also only bought the kit to tow my 88mm in a diorama.
It is very easy to build the Sd.kfz.7,but as it is so basic it does need all the aftermarket help it can get.
I used the modelkasten track and wheel kit which has metal sprockets
and is excellent
I also used the Eduard PE kit which is quite basic compared to todays sets but is very good as the kit floor has no tread plate. Also added AFV Clubs fender poles. I thinned down the mudguards and the chassis sides as they are so thick. I added foil cover for the seats as the originals have no detail.

hope this helps
cheers.

Sounds like you built yours up just the way I intend to do mine. Those modelkasten tracks look like a 100% improvement over the kit tracks. Do you have any in progress shots? Must have been a lot of work, but it looks like it was worth it in the end.

Great build Ian. I really like the subject and I really like what you've achieved here.
Some interior shots would be appreciated.

Jesper
Here are a couple showing the internal view.
The Eduard PE set is worth it just for the dashboard alone
