Not really. 3-7 CAV, 3ID had all M1A1s during OIF 1 (invasion phase), when the Echelon decal sheet depicts. 1-37 AR, 1AD had all M1A1s as well. M1A2s are only fielded in 3 units, 1CAV (M1A2 and M1A2 SEP), 4ID (mostly M1A2 SEP), and 3ACR (all standard M1A2s). They are all sand in color as well.

Also, 3-7 CAV Bradleys didn't have the ERA blocks on them either. If you added the CITV to your Bradley it makes it an M2A3, only 1CAV and 4ID have M2A3s. A few other units may be/have fielded them as well, but not in Iraq where they would have used the ERA blocks.

Echelon is supposed to be coming out with a Bradley's in OIF decal sheet soon too.

Basically, for the vehicles you have built, an M1A2 and an M2A3 w/ERA, you have 4ID or 1CAV as marking options.

Hope that helps. Welcome to the site.

1-37 Had M1A1HAs with the Block 1 modifications. Upgraded battery box, Laser safe GPS, MPAT and STAFF ammo upgrades. Also ECM and Ballistic computer upgrades. Some of the A Co vehicles will have laser safe vision blocks for the driver and loader. As of early 1993 the paint will be new with none of the usual fender and bustle rack damage. It was all fixed then the vehicles got thier nice pretty NATO paint scheme. The Aco plow was desert tan and the roller was 1 color green. The 24 tank around the same time will have the small gps door painted tan with a black lightning bolt in the center signifying a 1000pt crew.

In 2003 when 1st BDE was deployed to Iraq, 1/37 AR and 2/37 AR both had all AIM tanks. Now they have some of the TUSK upgrades and a few even have the CSAMM system mounted on them.

Steve and Mike,
Great info from both of you, but the point still stands that 1-37 AR doesn't and hasn't used M1A2s, so his model still can't be marked as a 1-37 AR tank off the Echelon sheet.

HHC 2-81AR 1st Armor Training Brigade is another marking option for the M1A2. This is for 1996 until at least 1999. At the time these vehicles where in like new condition as they only field time they saw was on the gun range.

For test bed M1A2s I believe they where C Co 1/67. There where 4 vehicles attached as 3rd Platoon D Co 3/67 Ar in 1992. 3/67 was in the right rotation for gunnery and NTC for testing. They where converted M1IPs or A1s with insrument rack extended off the bustle rack and addon armor panels on the turret and front glasis to simulate the added armor.
The testbed A2s had no unit markings and the addon armor had not for ballistic use in 1.5 in stencil on all panels.

If you go with Steve's recommendation for the test tanks and AR Tng BDE tanks, make sure you leave off the CIPs (louvered squares on turret sides) and the raised squares (with velcro "L"s at the corners) on the turret front slopes.

Good luck.
