Did the Polish armor units use any of the Crab flails or other engineering vehicles/ If so what vehicles and what unit were they with?
Were the Polish Shermans painted differently than the British or American Shermans?

The Crab Flails were only used by the UK 79th Armored Div. They worked alongside other units (and even loaned some to the US) as needed.
I've seen Polish units had M32 ARVs, M31 ARVs, Shermans with M1 Dozers. There are some good books on Polish units. Also search out the Sikorsky online photo archive here:

Here's an excellent book on Polish Shermans, from Wydawnictwo Militaria: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/1194 The previous link to the Sikorski Archive is good but short on images from the latter part of the war.

For the Modeller of Polish Shermans this and the equally excellent Polish Sherman Vol 1 are a must (and cheap too). Polish Shermans followed the British marking and colouring applicable to Theatre. Med vehicles were frequently in cam schemes and the NWE vehicles were in either the delivered OD or SCC 15 in the case of Brit converted Vehicles. They also tended to have Brit fittings such as Antennas and turret stowage boxes.

Very true. However, Volume 1 is virtually unobtainable although I remain hopeful that they'll reprint it at some point...
On a general point, for an AMAZING range of armor subjects, there are few editorials better (or cheaper) than the Wydawnictwo Militaria books...Jim
