Hi Guys
I have bean painting construction a 1/16 figure over the past few weeks, and i have now come to start and add shadows etc. After changing the base colour from the standard Tamyia colour to the Vallejio colour i have changed back after many hours and several coats of paint of the figure.
I was wondering what is the best way to add shadows etc... to the figure
thanks

Hey matt
I am by no means a figure painter and Im sure there will be some answers for you.. But you could mix up a bit of your uniform colour and then darken it.. Then add to the bottoms of the creases and blend.. You could also use a wash in the creases to darken them... I hope this helps you out... You may find some more answers in the Historicus forum. Its where all the figure painters hang out...

I don't know if this is any help but you could check out Vallejos website:
http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/
Choose English, then "MINIATURE & MODEL COLORS", click the top link on the left "MODEL COLOR", scroll down and choose the introduction of the "PAINTING FIGURES WITH MODEL COLOR"-tutorial.
Also check out the tutorial in spanish, while perhaps unreadable the pictures could be an enlightenment because it is completely different from the english one.
Good luck.
