Hi all,
I'm getting ready to start a Zvezda T-34/85 and am curious what RLM or U.S. color would be closest to the Soviet green. I'm only asking because I'd like to start spraying some pieces tonight but am to lazy to drive the half hour the the closest hobby shop and I have a good supply of RLM greens. :-)
Thanks,
-Derek

Derek,
If you intend to weather, filter, wash and do all manner of things to make it look worn, I would say use any nice dark green colour. In the Osprey book modelling the T34/76 book that I bought a few weeks ago, each modeller has used quite different shades of green to get the final colour.
Once you add the first coat, you can always go to alter the colour by mixing your own shades. I suspect that it was the case in real factory produced tanks.
Look on the various sights for builds in the various photo sections and you will see what I mean.
Here is an example then look through the others that are there.

Hope this helps,

John,
Thanks for the info. The real reason I asked is that I'm a bit color blind. I see colors fine, but with reds and greens the nuances are kind of lost on me. So a Sherman and a T-34 would look like the same green to me, but most of you would see some tonal differences that I wouldn't, which is why I asked for the closest color names.

FS34102 is supposed to be a decent match to the original color card. It's available as a USAF camouflage color in most paint lines.
