You won't find any. M1A2s don't exist in NATO 3-color camo. M1A2s are only fielded to 3 Corps units; 1CAV (M1A2 and M1A2 SEP mix), 4ID (all M1A2 SEP), and 3 ACR (M1A2 and M1A2 SEP mix) and all are sand. There were a few at the Armor School at Ft Knox for training in NATO camo, but none in the force.

Gino, thank you very much, so I must build in sand color.

All SEP's (other VERY recently received ones) are in 3-tone camo at Fort Knox. If you are interested in modeling a 3-tone, there's probably pictures on Fort Knox's website. Pretty distinctive, as the 16th Cavalry Regiment places big honking cavalry saber stencils on the front glacis.

Hi,
please correct me if I´m wrong, but replacement parts (such as side skirt elements) on sand colored M1A2´s currently in service in Iraq are green I think...

well if that is all that they are able to get ahold of for parts then yes it might be green. each part that is on the tanks come with two slightly diffrent item numbers so that when they are ordered it will either be tan or green. If the parts are green it might be because I am sure they are not concerned with the part color, just that they get the parts. So if the skirts are green it is probably because it was the first ones they grabed

Ric's right on the money. You can order parts by color, as well. Used to not have that flexibility for most parts, but it's changed.

However, you will sometimes run into parts manuals that only contain the stock number for a particular color. A good example was we had a #1 skirt destroyed, placed the order for it, and were told several times "It's going to be a while". We were ordering parts for a SEP, which comes off the line painted tan. Our BN XO was down scrounging parts, and came across a green skirt, and started to raise cane, when the parts monkeys at the storage area told him, "Sir, it's the wrong stock number"...

Same item, different numbers, and also different flaws you will run into ordering at times.

If your BMO or BMT was worth their salt, they would have known enough to add a substitute NSN when ordering the part.
