Looks very nice so far. What are you using for the anti-slip coating? And what are the yellow rings on the barrel (I asume tape)?

Anti-sliping is Gunze Mr. Surfacer 500.
Yelow rings is tamiya tape but I change plastic gun barrel in metal barrel.

It is a home made resin one I bought from a member on this site, Garyj36 . It is not excellent, but with a little work it turned out ok. The BRE is the USMC style one, and I know Eduard makes one, and you get one on the J-sprue from Academys M1A1 OIF. To my understanding this BRE is now being standard for both USMC and US Army. I can't confirm this though, but Gino or one of the other modern guys probably know if this is true or false. I do not think the M1A2s had this type of BRE during the initial invasion.

It is a folding BRE. It was first used by the USMC and now the Army is buying them as well. All "new" M1A1 AIMs are now coming with them from Depot rebuild now too. 4ID had them on their M1A2 SEPs when they entered Iraq, which was after the initial invasion by a few weeks (mid April '03). There were no M1A2s in 3ID during the initial invasion either. USMC M1A1HCs had them on during the invasion though.

I did a review on Gary's USMC BRE too. They are pretty nice and look the part. Not a bad item at all.
