Ok - this may be a Rivet Board but its also a diorama
Anyway - I've mentioned and asked for help regarding the felling of trees for a river crossing. This is the mid stage for this. I haven't glued any part of the base down yet. The trees are only a portion just to give a reference for what will be later. I will try to use the ideas you all have suggested.

Any more comments???

You know - this one was just a whim type of diorama. I saw a picture of a Stuart wih a fascine on the back and that grew to a crossing, which grew to a make shift bridge, which grew to this.
I was initially going to site a location on the Western front. Then I found out that not to many M3 served on the Western front so if push comes to shove - how about a training ground in the US?

Hi,

I liked your idea but, a sugestion - on the photos I've seen from fascines, the timber logs are tied with ropes or wires so that they will not slip under the tracks or if it's a improvised one they must stay more compact so that they give a 'solid' path for the tank, even a light one as the M3/M5.

Tuga - I have migrated a bit away from a dedicated fascine. Have I gone to far? In your research/experience am I creating a make shift bridge that would never have existed?

Hi,

If it's a improvised bridge those I've seen the logs are closer completly fullfing the gap so that they will not be easily moved by the tracks of the tank. I remember I saw somewhere photos of US tanks crossing small streams in NW Europe with the help of timbers logs as you are doing, I'll try to find them and post them for you.
