Pigments over gloss or matt finish?

Just applying the washes to my Revell 1/72 Cromwell, was wondering, is it best to put weathering pigments over a matt finish, or gloss finish?

Hi Neil
I allways apply pigments over a matt finish it gives the pigment something to adhere too.
I apply pigments as the final stage as ( especially if you are applying them with a brush) they dont stand up to handling very well

Definitely pigment finish for me. I try to relate it back to the real thing and more often than not, dust / mud is the final coat that gets on all vehicles once used so it only made sense for me to apply it last.
