Hi people.
As most of you know I do mainly US and allied softskins but for a change I am doing an Opel Maultier (My first tracked vehicle) OOB in yellow and a Mercedes L3000 in greyand with the Eduard photo etch. This has also been modified so I can have the doors open with a detailed cab..
Now my question is that I know that the yellow has a couple of different camos' in brown and green but does GERMAN GREY have a camo pattern as well.
thanks

Hi pal,
As far as I know there was no camo in the grey schemes, I saw some dark yellow vehicles with some grey stripes (not this particular vehicle though!).
But maybe someone else could help you better...
Cheers

There is a common camo scheme of Schwarzgrau (grey) and Dunkelgelb (OD Green) that was used a lot at the time. It depended on the unit and the commanders preferences.

What Rob just said is correct. I've seen exmaples of the green on gray on armored vehicles (isn't the box art on one of the Tamiya Marders in this scheme?) but I don't remember seeing that on a gray truck. What was common on a gray truck would be varioous whitewashes: swatches, stripes, splotches, etc. You might also paint a very worn Afrika Korps yellow over gray with the yellow having been worn off. (Many vehicles were delivered to the DAK in gray and painted upon arrival. )
