Gijs,
Contact Bob(Burik). He, along with SGT Olson, wrote the book "Thunder Run" from Concord. SGT Olson was on, I believe A23, I might be confused. The book shows alot of pictures from A Co, 2nd Platoon.

Gijs,
Sorry that you can't get the book. The reason why I said to contact Bob is because he sent me pictures from the book, plus he has extras, but I can't give them out with out his permission. He has more than what is in the book.
I take it you have the Echelon decels for that unit?

As Pete indicated, I have extras that did not make the book. Sgt Olson was in A24, American Airlines flight 77; he was the platoon sgt. I have Sgt Olson's journal from the war and so I have some insight as to the places these tanks were on specific dates and what experiences the crews had, which makes building any of the tanks from this platoon special for me.
This platoon was in both thunder runs into Baghdad and carried the extra stuff like the extended bustle rack and jerrycan racks that are now available in the new Dragon Abrams. On that note, I am not sure why only one jerrycan rack is provided in the kit. There really should be two. Maybe Dragon had to draw the line on costs.
There is one neat photo of A22 or A23 (I can't recall if it is in the book) that shows it on the attack over uneven ground and one can see the old markings showing through the paint - 1-64 was using the old 24 ID marking system up until right before crossing the border. It would be a good painting exercise for someone to try and pull this off in a model. Subtle airbrushing would need to be done I suppose.

Gijs,
I was in the infantry platoon that was attached to Alpha company during the war. If you still need some pics you can email me at ralippsatmsn.comat. Just remove the "at's" I don't think I have excellent tank references for pictures but it may give you another idea. I'm here to help!!

Your talking about a different book. They are talking about the Concord book.
Yes, that was a working title when the book was being done, and we dropped the ball in getting Concord to change it before publication. At least the sub-title is different, so technically the book has a different name; but I did want a different title. Oh well.
