I'm looking into ordering the Revell of Germany Fuchs kit but wanted to know beforehand if there were any decent resin update/conversion kits on the market. I know that MR has some sets but don't have any clue about the quality of them. HELP........
Thank You,
Kurt

HI
Well, there are two kits and you can build about four versions OOTB. Although with the exception of the NBC version most are externally pretty similar.
Sorry

Hi, I still have to bould the Luchs, which has similar features.
I can tell you it has a good detail, and I think the Fuchs is not less.
An aftermarket producer makes resin wheels suitable for both the models!
Here are two E-Bay links, as I could not find the original producer...

I have some in progress and completed pictures of a Fuchs in the Barrel Store Modern German Gallery. This shows the MR Detail set.

The kit detail is poor, and the fit, especially the suspension isn't very good. The MR detail set helps, but the soft metal parts are not so great.
I stratch built many other parts, including the steps and mirror mounts.
Don't use my model as a guide, because there are several errors due to mixing versions, and the directional tires are on backwards. This was pointed out to me when I entered it into a local model contest.
It was a challenge, but at the same time, fun
Eric

Hi ,
the Revell kitis not that bad even if some details are a bit soft as already mentioned.
The Eduard set is a god one and very few parts are left over. Be cautious that the armored shutters are not good for the kit version but only for the up-armored vehicle.
To my knowledge, MR do some sets of various tires if you don't intend to use the vinyl ones that come in the kit.
You can have an idea of this kit built by looking at mine sample on my site (link on my banner)

Thanks Olivier! Do you happen to know what MR kit number 35101 includes? Its the set for the drivers compartment. I emailed Modellbau themselves but haven't gotten a response as of yet.
Thanks again,
Kurt

Nice, nice work Eric! Thanks for the help on the MR kit. Do you happen to know what all comes in the MR kit number 35101? I've emailed Modellbau themselves but have yet to hear anything back from them. I know its a drivers compartment but just wanted to know if it were mainly a resin conversion kit or photo etch set or both.
Happy Modelling!!

Kurt
The set I used was MRA-3598, and included tools, roof hatches, driving lights, rear view mirros, machine gun MG3A1,smoke mortors, life preserver ring, and a few other odds and ends. This did not include the drivers compartment.
I also used Eduard Etch set 35 244.
Hope this helps.
