Gday again
Have pulled my finger out and actually gotten this one to the painting stage...

Finished the front guards, drilled out the searchlight, and re-glued on the parts I broke doing this

Have to add the springs for the driver's hatches after the OD has been applied, as I believe these were not oversprayed...

Wasn't sure how the weld seams I 'raised' would look, but I'm happy with the result... (I used a heated #11 tip for something different...)
Just realised I haven't a photo of the right running gear where there is mine damage to a couple of the bogies/arms...
At the rear there is some stowage which is to be added, and also a hook from the rear hull overhang mesh which will have a bucket or frypan etc...
All feedback welcome!
Cheers
Brad

Shaping up really well my friend. Now give it a drab slab and let's see the results! As for me, I'm having problems assembling the tracks for my M4. I followed your advice but the pins kept getting broken.

Gday Ralph
The only other option I can give you is to add copious amounts of glue, roll 'em all in a ball and throw them off a picturesque cliff somewhere... :-)

Thanks Sarge. It is the Tamiya kit albeit with a couple of extras...
This may give you a better idea...

Alan, Robert thanks for the feedback... Just gave it the ol' Olive Brad coat, using a Testors rattler...

AAhh the Tamiya kit. I was wondering which M4 came in gray plastic. The only manufacturer I knew that used gray plastic was Dragon but they don't have an M4. Great job so far. I can see the PE add-ons.

hehe
Gday Alan
Didn't realise that the grey primer I used was so close to Dragon plastic :-) I suppose this would pique the curiosity, especially with the casting numbers and resin updates!

Gave it an Operation Cobra camo finish, but then for whatever reason backed out of the deal and re-sprayed the lot OD
Cheers

Very well done M4. Hatch springs probably would be over painted, along with any left on the tank! One old tanker I talked to had his clothing bag painted over. Too bad you changed your mind on the paint scheme, but that's a camo job that many of us avoid.

Thanks Randall!
In the past I have never painted the springs; I guess more from a visual contrast viewpoint than any historical accuracy
As for the camo, I still have a M4A1(76) up my sleeve which will be perfect for this scheme

I am looking forward to seeing more of your tank when painted. I have been on a long burn out and seeing all the work on your M4 has given me a slight itch to actually "do" another M4. The only M4 kit left that I still want in plastic is the dirrect vision block M4/M4A1. Thanks!

You're inadvertantly welcome, Randall
Gwarn, that itch is gettin' more intense, am I right?

Not trying the old Jedi mind trick are we?

Actually, what burned me out was making detail parts, and then casting them up. I ended up with lots of nifty parts, but no finished models! I still have a couple old Tank Workshop dirrect vision hulls around here some where, but I am so tired of resin now that I can wait for one in plastic. DML has made just about every thing else. Sitting on top of the pile is the new M4A2 "Marine" version, which is perfect for Canadian, Free French and British tank units in France. Not sure if there were any Australian tank units units in Europe, I blame the poor schools over here.

No mate, but there was a NZ brigade IIRC which served at least in Cassino... The Marine M4A2 Shermans supported our troops in Borneo and Malaysia I thinketc.
We have a 2 Shermans in Australia in a museum up the road from me; a M4A2 and a Hybrid...
