I've done a couple of kits and attempted to use this, but I was wondering. Is it just me or are some of the pieces way too big or too small to be used for thier intended purpose? I was wondering if this is just something with the two sets I've used (LAV-25 - Italeri and M1A1 - Tamiya) or is it common to the product line.

Personally I have never had a problem size wise, for me just doen't look right. I know Eduard does make PE for certain companies kits only like Tamiya, I only use about half of the PE for the kit due to the fact I can use something better more accurate. My 2 cents worth.

Never had a problem with using them. But on the subject now Aber has some stuff even harder to use then the Eduard stuff take a look at the detail set for the Famo from Aber #:-)
now that will get you to look like that. My only problem was that I was losing some parts to the carpet monster too I put a bedsheet down around the area. Never had a problem with me thinking that some were to big some things don't look right like handles never use them as I have never seen flat handles best to use brass or lead wire for that. Oh on the handles did use the flat one for the 8" howitzer and will use it again for the Long tom as they were flat.
okay I said enough stepping down now

Ive got to agree with sgtreef here. I have not found newer Eduard sets to be either over or undersized. The old set for the Sa( Gaskin had some fit issues, but that's a pretty old set.

I think that other than the flat grab handles , which I toss out, the general Eduard parts (newer ones) are pretty good. I've been putting seatbelts into an Academy Blackhawk and they seem to fit fine and be the right size.

Aber on the other hand is for psychotics... anyone who wants to make a WORKING 1/35th scale Panther tank gun tube lock chain, or toolbox, , or WWII German quad AA gun ammo clip.. needs help!

I fins I use more of Eduard sets (save the handles) than the Aber sets.

I do like Abers screens and chains better however.

About the only problem I've ever had with Eduard was with the headlight guards on their set for the Skif T-80. They were just too short and the bottom of them couldn't be made to reach the surface of the hull. Not even close. Some of the periscope covers didn't seem to be made right either, especially for the driver's position. They stick up too high in the air.

Other than that, their stuff seems really excellent. I'm working on a Tamiya Tiger 1 and am using about 99% of the parts in the Eduard set. Also have the Aber set for the Tiger - used about 5% of that #:-)

No problems here either.
But if you should run in to over-sized PE - being modeler's we do have the talent & skill's to " construct & tinker " and we have our tool's. ...... So, this gives us what's neccessary to correct most indifferences to the specifications that are recquired for a good fit. ( I say this beacuse of past experience with similiar situation's ).
