Hi
I am pretty new to the forum, but would like to ask for some help none the less.
I have earlier been painting a lot of WWII armour - especially German. Now I am moving into the Afghanistan war period. I have bought a BMP-1 and a T-72 for a diorama.
However, I do not know what camo the soviet army used in Afghanistan. I remember something about green/sand sprayed camo, but I am not sure.
Currently I am stationed abroad and so is away from my private armour library at home. I have tried google, but it did not turn up much in the way of pictures and/or colour schemes.
Does anybody have some information on Soviet camo in Afghanistan on BMP-1s or T-72s?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
That is interesting - I have always thought they used the T-72 in Afghanistan. I think I will probably rethink the diorama then.
Anyway the BMP-1 can be painted in a light grey/russian green camo.
